Creative Leadwork are a small organisation working out of a domestic foundry in the Surrey Hills. We work for the love of designing and casting beautiful items out of Lead. We manufacture statues, planters, plaques and signs, please see our galleries.
If you are interested on purchasing any of the items you see here, please contact us and we can discuss current availability or perhaps we could recast an item if it is not currently available.
How do we cast our items, I hear you ask?
We start with a pattern of the item that we wish to cast and this pattern is placed in a frame and very fine damp sand is packed around the pattern and this creates an impression, or negative, of the subject.
When making a plaque, the lead is poured into this impression, and once it has cooled it is turned out and is ready for final finishing.
When casting a piece that has a front and a back such as a planter or a statue, two negatives are put together and lead is poured in to make the item.
The mould is broken away once the lead has cooled and the time is ready for final finishing.
Some planters are made by joining together flat cast sides so then can be customised to pretty much any size you need.
If you have any specific requirements we can probably accommodate anything you
